The Verdier-Logel "les Gourmets" is from the estates oldest Gamay vines, grown on granite soils near the upper reaches of the Loire river. It sees a ten-day whole-cluster semi-carbonic vinification. The wine shows ripe aromas of crushed raspberry and red currant, with hints of rose, spice and citrus. The palate is pretty and fresh with the berry fruits backed by a nice mineral character that continues in the refreshing finish. Serve this Gamay a bit cool.
